EUROPEAN SHAKUHACHI SUMMER SCHOOL PARIS, 2nd – 5th July 2015

Summer School participants at Le Kremlin-Bicêtre

Summer School 2015 participants at Conservatoire Le Kremlin-Bicêtre

In 2015 the European Shakuhachi Summer School was held from 2nd to 5th July in Le Kremlin-Bicêtre, a city just to the south of Paris, France.

For the first time the Tozan school was highlighted with the presence of Taizan Kawamura, an essential figure of the Tozan style and in the world of shakuhachi in general. Of course other schools (e.g. Kinko, KSK) were also represented to make the best out of the richness and diversity of the different schools located in France.

The Summer School was organised by Jean-François Lagrost with assistance from Véronique Piron and the ESS.
